The chat-tuned 7B variant uses supervised fine-tuning and human-feedback reinforcement learning. Its weights are subject to the same custom licence and gated download process. No model files, inference or API access were used. September 2022 pretraining data and tuning data through July 2023 are kept distinct rather than asserted as one exact cutoff.
